Pooh-Bah
I've owned horses, always more than one and for the majority of the time shod all round and have, over thirty years of daily riding and regular turnout had less than ten (I swear) shoes come off. Five were pulled off in the field, my pony pulled two off in sheep netting (not included in the previous five - he was a little beggar) one during XC practise and one was pulled off by a horse getting too close. ALL were fronts except this last one.
Every pulled shoe was a clean pull and no hoof damage occurred. How does everyone else fare? My horses and ponies are as busy as the next and we compete and train, hack and go on the beach and XC regularly.
They all have good hard feet, a few of which are white feet.
