Has anyone been told these horrible words? But come good in the end?

The actual phrase was 'we aren't winning' - after months of treatment and 6 weeks of steriods my mare continues to deteriorate... not visibly - outwardly she looks fit and healthy but her blood results tell a very different story

Anyone been in the same position and its all come good? How did you do it?!!!

I was told something similar when my mare had a kidney infection, I was convinced she was getting better. She hadn't eaten for a week and had been on a drip but I led her out and she wanted grass and was also picking clivers from the grass verge. I was told her blood test results were very bad and I'm sure the vet expected me to say pts. Rhaps made a good recovery and I rode her up to the age of 24. I hope this helps,I also used a supplement from global herbs when she started eating, think it was called restore or something similar.

My boy was at Newmarket Christmas just gone .. With hepatitis .... And just coming back to full fitness !! At his worst he was exhausted .. Dragging his legs in walk .. Dull coat .. Lost his mojo .. He was 5 at the time ... He went on a strict diet no sugar !! A little soaked hay/straw 4 times a day .. And 1kg of molass free hifi mixed with speedy beet ..split into 4 feeds .. So just a few crumbs in a bucket ..no oil No grass no turnout.. For 3 months .. But had to exercise him from his stable .. At least an hour per day ( little and often was best) he looked really rough at one point :( he was on a supplement from Newmarket £250 per month :/ .. Slowly slowly he has improved .. And I did have 'the talk' with the vet .. But she promised me she will fix him !! And with a lots of hard work and praying .. He is back on form :) winning dressage and dancing to the field !! I must be the only person happy to be dragged the the field !! Don't give up .. Your horse can get better .. R u giving her any supplements ? Pm if I can help in any way ;)
