Losing weight during the summer...

Does anyone else's horse lose weight during the summer but keep it on easily during the winter...? Ali is just about to become a tad "ribby", but he kept weight on easily during the winter and he was ridden several times a week and hunted/competed a couple of times a month... Last summer he was also very hard to keep weight on, but I mainly put that down to him being "stressed" as I only bought him last June... He's wormed, well fed etc. and is a very happy horse allround, so could it just be "the way he is"...? I'm just not looking forward to another summer of going to shows and people jumping to the wrong conclusions about why he's a bit ribby

My boy drops weight over summer when he's out 24/7; he spends all his time wandering around trying to get 'jiggy' with the ladies instead of eating

He does much better over winter when he's in over night with no distractions and big pile of haylage
