My Westie has been loosing weight since she has been spayed. She was 8 kg and now she's dropped all the way down to 6.9kg.
She has been wormed and I have seen the Vet who always tells us to feed her more. She is currently eating Nature's Menu Country Hunter lightly steamed tins. The recommended amount for a dog her size is under 300 grams per day. We are currently feeding her 200 grams per meal 3 times a day - 600 grams!! This is the recommended amount for a 20kg dog! Plus we are also giving her extra peas and carrots and blueberry's etc with every meal. She also gets a beef trachea or some raw ribs a few times a week.

I really don't know what else to do at the moment - we just keep feeding her more and more but she keeps losing weight! :(

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I would take her back to the vet and have her checked. You will need to tell him how much you are feeding her of course. I assume she has been wormed for tapeworm? (If you use Advocate it does not do tapeworms). Vegetables and fruit will not help with weight gain, fatty meat, tripe and some carbohydrates would, providing she does not have an undiagnosed health problem. You could also ring Nature's Menu and see what they say. Let us know how you get on.

My little Bichon became quite skinny after her spay. I started cooking fresh chicken for her daily to add to her existing food (Natures Menu and Fish4Dogs kibble. Like you feeding three times a day).
