Turned my pony away when the nights started drawing in and when the wheater turned. He was doing bout an hour a week with the lady who shares him.

I have never felt unsafe on my pony until last week when i got on him for the first time myself since last year. He felt like a tightly wound spring ready to explode at any moment which normally would not have bothered me as i love him to have umph as we are normally a plod but last summer we were working on getting his weight off and getting fit we went from a snaffle to a bottom ring gag as he was just too much to hold but this helped and we continued having plenty of fun.

How can i regain my confidence on him without giving him negative vibes?????

sorry really very pointless but feeling a bit lost about it all

Ignore those two ^^ lol

Then again...

Anyhoo! Most people go through a stage or two like this hun. Have a hug, and a hot choccy, and give yourself a break

.

Do you have a friend you can hack out with? An instructor who will spend some time with you in the school?

Is there anything else going on in your life at the moment that is stressing you out? I have awful work stress at the moment, went for a long hack to "wind down" at the weekend, all I did was wind poor horse up! He was hammering along like he had all legs down one knicker hole, stumbling, and when I got a text he pooed his pants! Then I realised it was me, tried really hard to relax, got there in the end but it wasn't easy!! Poor horse! Resolved to never get on again when I'm feeling like that, will just groom instead.

Sorry just an idea as this weekend did get me thinking - they really are mirrors!

I keep him privatly on a small feild no facilities i do have one but they can wind each other up and her horse is currently out of work with illness

Get someone to walk with you

What's he like on the lunge? Obviously that's dependent on the ground conditions.

Maybe you could lunge him for 10 minutes before you get on him, just so you know the edge is taken off him so you feel safe and confident. Then you could work your way down to a shorter lunge time to getting straight on him, hope this helps
