loss of hair on leg

Not sure what is wrong. Started in winter small bald patch got bigger and bigger. not mud fever got vet in washed leg with anti fungal stuff. eventually got better nearly all back to normal then all started to fall out again. goes all flacky and dry and then loses hair. Been putting on factoe 50 sun cream so doesnt get sun burned. started to grow back. Is it food related or sunrelated or what. He is an appaloosa. Please help as really need to cure this.

Yer, I think it sounds like rain scald. You should get more anti-fugal stuff, and it should clear up again.

are chunks of skin coming out too? and whereabouts on leg? something similar happening to my mare at the mo, i posted a pic in Vet section.
