Loss of use freezemarks?

Has anybody had experience of trying to get information about a horse that has a loss of use freezemark(L in a circle)
I have contacted the freezemark company,who were very helpful,but couldnt tell me why exactly why they were instructed to mark her as having been the subject of a loss of use claim.I contacted the insurance company who told me they cannot divulge information about a horse that was previously insured by somebody else.(The horse is not insured by anyone at the moment)But how can I insure her if I dont know all the facts.

One of my horses was LOU freezemarked. She went as a companion, long story, lots of regrets but I asked the company who freezemarked her if they would give me contact details of the new owner so I could see how she was. They wouldnt but they would pass my details on to them so they could contact me if they wanted. As it happened I was still registered as her owner
