Hi please don't all jump on me, but i need some questions answered pretty please.

I'm about to purchase a companion pony very sweet mare, she has a freezmark and the curly symbol underneath, now im sure its loss of use.
Asked if he knew why she was stamped and he said he had purchased the pony from the sales so no, he said his daughter had rode her a few times and she has been fine.
Is there anyway i can find out the injury?. thanks

I pick her up sat so not got access to the passport yet, booked a physio, for next week just to give the once over, paid very little for her as i needed a companion but he is insistent she is ridable x

I thought loss of use was a L in a circle, is the pony native bred that could have been branded, I would think it unlikely that you can find out why, if it is LOU, unless you trace her previous owners and see if they will give you details that would be the first thing to try.

Oh No its not a circle with and L in its more like a curly symbol

Thank you for all your replies i have contacted farmkey and they have confirmed she is def loss of use, i may have traced the owner that had her stamped too, so hopefully will find out the reason soon x

Not a loss of use symbol.

Even if it were, due to Data Protection no-one would tell you why it was applied. I claimed LoU on one of my horses, hence knowing a bit about it.

Very true been on the phone all day trying to trace the reason, contacted vets in the passport that wont tell me due to data protection need the last owners permission, also the same for the insurance, but by chance i text a few horsey friends and have found her just waiting for a phone call now x
