My horse has lost a front shoe and the farrier has gone on holiday. It came off cleanly without breaking the foot so i can not decide if i should turn her out or not??? Dont want to lose any of the foot but the ground is nice and soft and it seems a shame to keep her in all week? What would you do ?

turn her out, you have nothing to worry about, like you said the ground is now soft

This is a regular occurence with my horse- and we have no local farrier, which can mean waiting weeks to have it put back on. He mostly lives out and his feet have been fine. Occasionally he does chip a bit of wall off at the edge but it doesn't really affect him or the reshoing.

If being ridden, he wears a hoof boot to protect his hoof. It's common practice here so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
