Hi Everyone,

Our two yard cats have gone missing.

S
Neither of them usually leave the yard so it is very unusual that they have both gone missing so close together.

Patch is a chunky boy and very friendly he is micro chipped If anyone sees him please let me know. He has been missing since Sunday.

I thought more people would see this in here rather than in the South East or Pet section and they are yard cats so technically The Tack Room related.

We are based in Hersham, Surrey so if anyone lives in the area please keep your eyes open and check your tack rooms/sheds just in case they have got in!

You can register them as lost on Animalsearchuk.co.uk and they will contact local volunteers to keep an eye out for them, I found it useful when one of mine went missing. Hope they turn up safe and well.

Our Surrey yard cats disappear for the summer out to the fields catching rabbits. They return in a month or two

Have you tried visiting other local yards or farms, they could be being fed there and decide to stay, one of the cats at our yard went missing last year, few months later we went to a nearby yard to watch a master class only to find the missing cat sunning itself on the straw bales in a barn!!!!

Thanks for the replies everyone. Will def register them on animal search- thanks touchstone!

Our yard is on a lane of all yards and everyone knows the cats are ours.

Silky has been missing since the beginning of May and we've had signs up all along the lane so everyone knows she's missing.

It's really unusual behaviour for either car to really leave the yard. They occasionally go next door but always home for dinner time!

Hope they turn up soon. The yard cat at my last yard went missing one day - after several weeks of no sightings the YO saw him when driving back to the yard. She jumped out of her car, grabbed the startled cat and threw him in the boot and took him home. Don't know where he had been, but he was fine and well fed - but he never did run off again.

Phone around all your local vets and let them know - just in case they have had any RTA's brought in (sorry :(). They should all have lists of lost cats and they can add your two to the list. Also, put up signs in local shops/ post office etc. Good luck and fingers and paws crossed for their safe return.

Sorry it might not be that helpful but could it be the work of foxes?
I live in a fairly built-up area but there are some parks around. I looked out of my windows around midnight the other night and I saw a fox (more than 2 feet in length from head to tail) wandering round the streets...

Oh no, hope they come back soon :(.
If it makes you feel better my stepmums cat disappeared off suddenly and didn't come back for a month. We all thought the worst but then one day she showed up! Goodness knows where she had been but she was fine and hasn't left again since.

Sending good vibes, 2 of mine have occasionally went missing together as one followed the other and they were shut in a house nearby where the owners had gone of holiday. They both came home together a week later and got stuck there together on more than one occasion.

The weather has improved greatly so maybe they have gone hunting.
One of my yard cats (an x-feral from Cats Protection, as they all are) goes walkabouts regularly. But he didn't for the first couple of years I had him. he was gone for over a month once and I was distraught. Then one day he arrived back full of tails of daring Do. He goes off every now and again. I usually stay calm for the first week.
Hopefully they will turn up again.
hugs - It's so horrid when cats disappear. fingers crossedf for you.

Hope they turn up soon. One of my cats went out yesterday morning and hasn't returned. Really worried and have looked for her but she is a free spirit type and when she is outside you never actually see her so she could be hiding anywhere.. Hope she gets hungry soon!

Thanks for everyone's comments and good wishes.

I just hope that wherever they are that they are happy and safe.

The hardest part is not knowing what has happened to hm.
