Please feel free to move if there is a more appropriate place for this to be on the board.

Teasel, my sister's 4 year old lurcher bitch, went missing while on a walk around 7am Wednesday 25 July between Long Hanborough and Church Hanborough, near Pinsley Wood, West Oxfordshire OX29.

Almost the whole village has been out looking for her, but no sightings so far. She may well be outside the immediate area, and any help you can give to reunite us would be immensely appreciated.

She was last seen heading in the direction of Freeland. She is wearing a black collar with an ID tag on it, and has a distinctive scar on the front of her left shoulder. She may be lying low due to the heat, and with a lot of harvesting going on might be reluctant to come out into the open. She may well have wandered outside the local area by now. The villagers of Long Hanborough have been brilliant helping us search, and their support has been tremendous. Anything you can help us do to spread the word more wisely would be wonderful.

Councils, Police, local vets, Doglost and Animal Finders have been informed - link to Doglost below, which includes a picture/poster

If you need any more information, please contact via here or the Doglost link. There's a mobile no. on that link also.

Many, many thanks in advance.

Thanks Carlosmum, that's brilliant.

If anyone knows of any Facebook groups or other forums which might help to spread the word, please let me know.

Trying at the moment to get a mention on the local radio/in the local paper too.

All help really, really appreciated

Thanks again

Thanks so much, Bosworth. The quote in your sig certainly sums it up.

Possible sighting yesterday at dusk not far from where she was last seen, which gives us cause to hope, and some brilliant advice from Dog Lost as to how to coax her back. Think we'll go and camp out tonight and leave her bedding to see if she'll return to it. Will keep you posted x

Upping this as she's still not home.

Search has widened and so many people now out looking for her. We need every pair of eyes and ears we can get on board, so wherever you are if you can help spread the word please do.

Find her on facebook - 'Teasel Stirling' and let's get her home!

Many thanks all.

x

Are you sure she's not been picked up,travellers love lurchers. My friends black lab bitch is still missing, white pick up seen, and she's been missing 3 weeks.

Have posted dogs lost ad on my FB. I'm not in that area but have some contacts who may well be and I guess the more high profile you make a missing dog, the better. Is there any chance of you getting any 'slot' on your local news? Getting pictures out on TV can help and also makes the dog 'hot property' if someone has picked her up. I can't even imagine what your sister is going through, it's horrible just not knowing what's happened.

Hi

Many thanks for your replies and for sharing link. It's just horrible, wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Another possible sighting reported yesterday (from the weekend) of a dog matching her description - and even name! - being walked by someone else about 8 miles away.

Police still don't want to know, but we've been round there madly putting posters up. The TV/radio/newspapers idea is a great one - tried one local radio station last week but they didn't reply (), am going to try again today and contact all the vets in the area of the last possible sighting.

Sorry to hear about your friend's black lab bitch, EB, hope she's home soon. x
