need to sell my horse ASAP. (anyone want a bargin?)

H&H is so expensive. But im wondering of its worth just doing the online advert?

where else to advertise?, as i cant waste money trying, she has to go quickly.

not when i was on 35K !!!!

lost job yesterday, am going to town to get part time job, but still wont pay any bills nor pay for horse.

crap time of year to be made redundant, and on my birthday

16.2hh 5 yrs mare, great breeding, massive jump, but perhaps better 3DE as she is very bold, although never strong which is nice. worth about £7k, selling for around £5500.

she was broken this year and has done some XC, jumping etc but no shows due to lack of time on my part.
I work in the events world, where they like to own your soul. Dont get me wrong I love my job (or did do), but being realistic dont have time for my baby.
I think this has given me the reason to finaly sell her until I can actualy have time for another good horse (failing that i can just get a family cob which wont mind not being ridden much)

Sorry you lost such a good job ,you earned 3 x my wage, so I have never been in that position. We struggle from month to month but manage ,hope you find a job soon.It is sometimes much harder when you earn alot we all live to our purse and we would all stuggle without it.
I see she was injured earlier this year ,is she now ok

so from her price I am assuming (for a just broken horse) that she has some potential? In which case is it not worth loaning her out for a year or so? pehaps find a good sharer or loaner through the pony club?

unfortunatly with an ex wife taking our money, stupidly high mortgage rates etc, i have to earn this money.

Event work isnt hard to get into, if you can organise anything at all i'd give it a shot, pays fantastic, and the jobs are really good fun.

Id love to live in a cabin by the sea and do a river cottage. (not forgetting the neddies)

no redundancy. wasnt there long enough. only lost my job due to "politics" and a management change.

Yes shes fine now, went lame on her left hind, was ok after 3 weeks box rest still dont know what caused it, despite lots of x-rays etc. insurance have now written off any claims on the entire leg!!! seems a bit steep when we cant find anything wrong with it!

her father was harcos, g.sire narcos who did the olypics. mum was a french team horse. she can clear 1.30-1.40m spreads when loose schooled. jumping about 1.10m at home, just started lateral work. not pushed her as she has very long legs still and sometimes gets them in a muddle when cantering a tight circle. (warmbloods dont mature till they are 7, and this is very typical)

she can be a bit sharp, but you can gallop her in the fields and she doesnt take off with you, nor gets strong. overall quite an nice ride.

only umming and ahhing "do i have time, dont i have time " type thing. never advertised her as will try anything to keep her, shes just so lovely.
dont want loan her out, as think it is too dodgy with a young quality horse. Tried finding someone to rider her with full competing rights, but no one was interested.

but i guess my hand has been forced now.

If your really stuck malvern performance sales is on in a couple of weeks, she would prob make between 4.5 and 6.5 there i should think, good horses always sell well there.

hey now thats an idea. thanks.

anyone sold at auction before?

I cant stand selling horses, just end up with idiots who cant ride. had one bloke came to try a open sj @ £9k, couldnt even do rising trot, bouncing all over the place jabbing the poor horses mouth.

Yes i have, and malvern is a better one, good trial facilities, all done and dusted in a day, and you tend to get more pro people there, dont expect mega bucks though.

i lost my job last year have done a bit of temping work so know how you feel, i have 6 horses havent sold one yet its a struggle
but mine ar on diy -
try horsemart to sell your horse aswell

try speaking to Paddy Muir at www.horseselect.co.uk she's always on the look out for young performance horses (for herself and for clients) and she's really good at matching horses to the right riders... i've sold a horse thru her (done in less than a week and the same people still have him) and my friend has as well and the horse is now a livery at her yard.

Not sure what your best options are for selling, just wanted to leave you a note saying I know how you feel. We are going through a 'restructure' -Mass Cull of staff!!! and I am highly likely to be one of them, find out the week before Xmas!
I am OK with it now as this has been going on for some time and am now looking at it as an opportunity, when one door closes another one opens and all that rubbish! I have decided to go back to uni to get my degree and will have to take a drastic drop in income to do it but I know it will be best for me in the long run!
Good Luck in finding something else and selling your horse (if you dont change your mind first!)
Sorry cant help more with your actual problem!
