Last night my oldest and most trusted friend went to rainbow bridge.

Jess was a little mongrel dog, who wad nearly 20, I got her from a rescue kennels at 16 weeks old when I was 18 , so I had her for half my life.

At 5 years old she cost me £5000 at cambridge vet school as she was very poorly, and they told me she had no more than a year to live!!!!!!

So here we are all those years later......

Last night she had her tea, I let her out, she was yapping as usual, so I told her to ' shut up' her bark was soo high pitched it always made me jump :) x

An hour later I let her back in ( very mild her last night) and after another hour I went to give her, her supper,,,,,, and she had gone in her sleep.

Good night princess, we went through soo many changes together, a realshionship, a new house, my break down, and. A baby, thankyou for sparing me the heat break of having to make the kindest decision, even to the end you made it easy on me xxxxxx

Love always mummy, have a pain free time at the bridge xxxx

She was a very speacial person, and my heart is in tatters, 2 years ago I lost my old weimaraner, last year my old. tB and now my best pal, all at this time of year .

Today is very strange, I can't remember life without her really, we went from my teens, to my 20's and now my 30's, I count my self very lucky that I had her in my life

So sorry to hear this :-( but like you said you have spent an amazing part of your life with her, she has helped you through ups and downs and will always be looking after you. xxx

So sorry to hear of your loss, what an amazing age, she is certainly going to leave a huge gap in your life. Try and take some comfort that she went suddenly and peacefully, something that a lot of us who have had to make the decision to pts our beloved dogs would have wished for. RIP Jess.

RIP Jess xx You two had quite a journey together and you'll never forget that so she'll always be with you xx

So sad. You have moved me to tears. What an amazing dog she must have been and happy to the very last. But what a kind way to go, and what an age she was!

What a peaceful ending, even though she has left a massive hole in your heart you can take comfort in that. RIP Jess and (((hugs))) to you. X

I am really sorry to hear this, our animals play such an important role in our lives, I hope they realise how much they touch our lives, sounds like your girl had a wonderful long life with you xx
