RIP Mitzy

Mitzy was 13 years old german shep x and a rescue who I have had with me for all but 6 months of her life.
She was the most beautiful dog who was kind and loved Barney her companion collie.
Today at 1pm I put her in the garden with Barney and heard the most awful yelps and ran out to find her dangling her right front leg from the shoulder. A friend helped me take her directly to the vets where they admitted her and gave pain relief straight away and was told they would x ray her asap.
Within the hour I was told she had bone tumours and had snapped the bone completely through and she had others elsewhere. There was no other decision but to say goodbye to my girl. I was glad to be with her and glad for her it was over so quick

RIP Mitzy you live on in my heart

It is just so, so sad when we lose our doggy companions - treasure your beautiful memories of her; she sounds truly wonderful.

I am so so sorry. Just the thought of losing my beautiful Puppy (who is 8 btw, so not actually a puppy) makes me feel like crying, and reading of your loss has brought tears to my eyes.

I hope that in time you are able to think of her and smile at the memories, rather than feel the pain of losing your friend.

Thinking of you,

H. xx

Thank you all for your kind words, Barney seems lost today clinging by my side poor boy they have never been apart in the 12 years together. Going to take him to the yard with me as I know the horsey smells will keep him entertained
Thanks again

Oh Saf, I am so sorry, how heartbreaking! She was a lucky dog to have been rescused at her age, very lucky indeed that you came along and gave her a happy last few months! Huge hugs to and Barney!!

Thank you all, I feel better today but Barney is even more clingy today and yips every time I go out of sight, took him to the yard all day and he seems to be tired now bless.
Also took him to the vets to sort out Mitzys cremation and they said it is normal for him to go through this stage. Its going to take a week to get Mitzys ashes back home.
