Hi
I just wanted to let you know that after a 2 month battle with Laminitis i had to have my wonderful horse put down today.
I just wanted to say thankyou to everyone who gave me advise and support over the weeks.
Please give your horse an extra big hug next time you see them.

I am so sorry. I have been following your posts and hoping Gulliver would recover. My pony has the same problems. The vet is coming out tomorrow. I only hope I can be as brave as you are, should the worst happen. Huge hugs for you. Run free, Gulliver.

Sorry to read about your horse. I'm in a similar situation as my mare came down with foaling laminitis the morning before she foaled. She has suffered severe rotation. She was on box rest for 11 weeks(with foal) and has been turned out into tiny paddock this past few weeks for the sake of the foal running about and also for her own state of mind.

My poor mare has struggled on and then this morning was in extreme pain again. Farrier came out and re-shod her(was due out this morning thanfully). We are on borrowed time and are amazed she has kept going. The time will come very soon but every extra day she has with her 15 week old filly is a cherised one.

I really feel for you x

So sorry to read this. The horse I learnt to ride on for four years was also PTS due to recurring laminitis. It's such a brave and loving decision to decide enough is enough and to let them go. Massive hugs for you hun. x

Thank god you are a decent owner and have put the horse first, so many people think they are doing the right thing by battleing on against the force of nature. I have seen so many poor horses and ponies suffer with owners who cannot let go. Find comfort in knowing you have done the only right and decent thing for your horse. You are very brave.xx

how very sad

I'm sorry to hear of your news hun, my boy who also went to the sky above this monday also suffered laminits and he had a bad bout in dec although he recovered, I completly sympathise with your decision to put your very brave boy free from pain.

R.I.P Gulliver
