Lost Shy's best friend today

My three best boys :(

So sorry to read this, I lost a Labrador when she was only 2 and it broke my heart. Time is a great healer, think of the lovely memories and hopefully you will feel strong enough eventually to have another dog. After a break of 15 years my husband finally gave me the courage to have another dog, he is curled up on the sofa next to me (Dog not husband!), he's now 7 years old. Best decision I ever made.
My very best wishes to you. I hope that with time you will stop hurting but remember all the good times.

It's so comforting reading your messages - he was a very special boy indeed.

He actually healed my broken heart when we lost our previous black lab in 2007 - Sydney died in quarantine (in Sydney) when we emigrated. He was five too. They've met up today.

My little terrier has now outlived three companions, and altho she's nearly blind now, keeps us going. Hubbie says Stan and Syd were destined to have very short lives, so they came to us to be spoiled rotten. I like that.

OMG, why him, why us, why again ??

I am so sorry you are questioning yourselves. Your husband has hit the nail on the head. What a sad day for you all. Pick up some of his hair and have one of those braclets or necklaces made. The pendant ones don't need much.
We have got a handful of our last 2 dogs hair and its kept in there now empty urn as we scattered them before moving but even now 4 years on it still smells of them. Hugs to you x x

I'm so very, very sorry. We lost one of our dogs 14 months ago and it does get easier. I've lost a fair few pets over the years but the pain is always the same each time.

RIP Stan. I hope you're teasing my Sophie up there.

Aww Shy , i'm so very sorry. I've got labs for the first time and they certainly fill your whole life / heart / home , I can't imagine the pain that you're going through. RIP Stan x
