Have you put his details on Dog Lost, they seem to have an excellent success rate. Also contact dog warden on a daily basis, any local rescue kennels and perhaps see if the local newspaper /radio station will run a story. If he has been stolen making him too hot to handle is always a good idea, or alternatively if he is just lost the more people know about it the better. Fingers crossed he is found soon.

Beat me to it S4sugar.

Also check Gumtree, Preloved, Donedeal etc in case someone has found him or is trying to sell him on.

We got ours back after a radio appeal, she ran off but someone must have found her and kept her in as she was dry as a bone when she walked back into the yard at 11pm after four days!!!

Phone the dog wardens and local kennels repeatedly / daily.

You'd be surprised how inept they can be. We had one go missing which the local warden admitted she'd had in 6 days previously, but 'forgot' about it. Cue one mad dash across the county to reclaim him before they put him up for rehoming or had him PTS. He was chipped too!

Ditto calling vets, putting posters up and contacting every tackshop / pet shop in the area to put notices up.

Good luck x

Just joined the site and this is the first thing i saw so please excuse me if this is too long a post
Please do get the owner to add him to doglost or email me at bedsdoglost.co.uk and i can put him on for them. Its important to act quickly. Get as many posters out as possible- these can help make people aware that he is missing and who to contact if there is a sighting or if he has been stolen they can make him "too hot to handle".
Make sure to inform the microchip company that he is missing and check local rescue centres such as Manchester dogs home and Leigh cat and dog home, RSPCA.
Check with the dog warden where they take their strays and make sure to visit in person. It is not a legal requirement to check for a microchip and even if scanned they can be missed if the chip has migrated. If you are near to the boundary of more than one authority then contact all of the dog wardens.
It is recommended that you use a 30 mile radius as a guide- dogs can travel very long distances in very little time. Send posters to all vets in the locality- you can find the nearest here http://www.any-uk-vet.co.uk/
We have a more comprehensive information sheet we can email out as well as poster templates- we are all volunteers and our site is totally free to use, we are a countrywide group committed to helping find lost and stolen dogs.
I do hope Max is home soon x

So pleased you got him back safe. My daughters JRT was taken on 18th June from East Kirkby nr Spilsby and still no sign of her. She bears more than a passing resemblance to yours! I have advertised her on the national pet register as well as locally. All local dog wardens and vets are aware. Don't know what else to do except wait.
