Went to hitch up tonight and realised the trailer wheel lock key is not where I keep it in my truck. No idea where it's gone. I don't have a spare.
I'm furious at myself for apparently losing it.
Has anyone got any idea how I get it off? Husband has an angle grinder but I guess the point is you can't grind them off?
It's a Bulldog one which makes it worse as they are supposedly the best.

I did this and my old YM used his angle grinder to get it off. Wasn’t a particularly tough job, but the lock wasn’t an expensive one!

So it's off. Worryingly easy to get off to be honest.
It was a Bulldog one, high spec, insurance company and police rated so very concerning. It literally took 3 mins to grind off!
Is it even worth replacing?!

I think they won't stop a theft but are a deterrent 3 minutes is 3 minutes extra of risk for a thief. Maybe it is enough to deter them?

My locks are not fantastic but having a Bulldog-like lock and hitch lock on will cause a delay for a thief. I also have postcode in big letters on the roof and a sticker like this on the back ..

I think though, that atthe end of the day, if they are really determined them they will nick it.

That's a bit worrying that it was so easy to get off o_O.

It's still worth having a good wheel clamp, though. It's all about adding layers of deterrence so that the sticky fingered ones pass yours by and move off to easier pickings, without an angle grinder being required.
Yeah I'm thinking I might just get a cheaper one as a deterrent.

I once forgot to take the wheel lock off before taking the trailer out.
it just flew off causing no damage and was no impediment at all. I was horrified.
perhaps H&H could do some practical tests to find out which of these anti theft devices actually work.

very good idea! Not sure how much stuff they would want to risk breaking should they work as intended ?
