She wandered of in the Scamton area on saturday night and very sadly hasn't been seen since

All the relevant people have been contacted but thought this may help

Not local but have a few friends who are so have passed details on to them so they can keep an eye out when walking their dogs.

Thank you all for your help. Sadly still not found her and am sure she has been picked up by someone, but may be there is still hope?

There is always hope. Posters everywhere, a very tempting reward gets peoples attention and keep badgering the dog warden and local police. I hope she is found very soon.:)

Try and stay positive. A friend of a friend had a lurcher stolen, it was found (after a year) in an area where illegal hare coursing was rife, fortunately due to the dog being chipped it was returned to the owner. I'm not suggesting that your friends will have to wait that long but you must keep up the pressure on your local dog warden, dog wardens in neighbouring counties, any local rescues etc. I've got everything crossed for you all.

Thank you. I just want to see her once to know she is ok.
She is chipped so maybe one day i hope we will find her.
I pray she has been picked up and is not living rough or injured somewhere

Sadly we are now losing hope as she is still not found yet. i just pray she's ok

Dear Emlybob

Please do not give up on Indy - the chances are she hasn't given up and she's out there somewhere longing for you to find her. Without trying to sound disrespectful, you need to do more than just pray - you need to be proactive and get out there and put plenty of posters up in the local area. Get friends and family to help you. If you put the posters up, people can contact you with sightings and then you will know where to look. Don't just rely on telling the dog warden/vets/rescues etc. I have checked your posting on the Dog Lost website on several occassions for updates on Indy and there is nothing there to say what steps you are taking on a daily basis to get her back home. You really should use this wonderful service which reunites dogs with their owners every day. Two other whippets, Zak & Dana went missing around the same time as Indy. The owners are getting regular sightings due to the amount of posters they have put up. If you look at the postings on these two whippets on the Dog Lost website (see below) you will see the lengths they have have gone to to publicise their plight hopefully they will be back with their owners soon.

You could be in exactly the same position with Indy but you need to publicise the fact that she has been lost. I implore you to get the posters up. Please don't give up on her.

Exactly Whippetlover.

My MIL whippet/lurcher went missing, we had eyes everywhere, posters everywhere and the dog warden pulling his hair out due to my incessant pestering! The dog was spotted at 6.30 on a Sunday morningby a paperboy, who had seen the posters, cycled back to the shop to make the phone call to my MIL. He deserved every penny of the substantial reward. You have to be proactive, incessant, tenacious, annoying, stubborn and above all hopeful if you want this precious dog returned to home.

Whippets can be very timid so most likely she has NOT been picked up by somebody. Most likely she IS straying and probably within a few miles from where you lost her. This is why you MUST get the posters up. I would also recommend you get an advert in your local paper. YOU need to help this girl find her way home to you.
