I went to feed my boy this morning and he had 3 or 4 flies on one of his eyes which seems a tiny bit goey. This time last year he had a bit of an eye infection and the vet gave me some drops which cleared it up. At this stage he's not showing any sign of infection (no swelling, redness etc) but there's just a bit more "sleepy dust" than usual and the flies bugging it. I've put some fly repellent on his face to try and ward them off but don't want to get too close to his eyes with it in case it exacerbates the problem.
Can anyone recommend any all purpose eye drops for horses etc or things I could try to ward them off - might salt water help?? May have to invest in a fly fringe or fly mask I think too??
