We are thinking of going over there to do some UA showjumping . . . but need to know what the indoor school is like. We've worked so hard to get Kal "connected" and confident jumping and this will be our first time out since we engaged our jump trainer . . . I don't want to set him up to fail by taking him to a very spooky, dark, etc., arena.

Have any of you been over there and, if so, what's it like? If you'd rather keep it private, please feel free to PM me.

Thank you.

We used to have pony club rallies there, but a good few years ago now. I'm thinking 2009 probably the last time we used it. Surface was amazing then, seriously good, however livery yard/dealers there now so can't say much for changes, with the school being used so much more.

This is a clip of it then...

Ignore awful riding, funny exercise of extra short stirrups and crossed reins!
Along the left hand side there is now stables under the additional barn area, I guess it really does depend on how spooky the horse is. I can't ever remember a horse or pony taking a dislike to it though!

Hi I jumped there a couple of months back. My full frank views (and I'm just a fun rider defo not a snob) friendly people, yard is a mess, nowhere to warm up, you warm up in the arena and then jump, 3 others stand in a corner while you jump, tight courses, not easy for my 16 1 hh, they had (could have changed) limited jumps so we were jumping a mish mash of poles, fillers, barrels, tyres made into jumps, twice, having to turn back all the time, the surface was really compact in places, really just needed a good turning over, and it's really all about Lotties ponies that jump there, I waited ages as they kept just going in to jump ahead of others. Not somewhere I will be back to in a hurry, sorry :(

I thought it would be exactly like this, I think it's all a bit of a shambles. I did wonder as to there not being another school, there's really nowhere to warm up. Personally I wouldn't go there.

Polarskye, I would have to agree with others, while it is a very friendly place, very low key, no warm up and not a great space for a bigger horse to jump in. what about Sparsholt or Wellington, I am also looking for some local places to go do some UA show jumping, if I hear of anything will let you know!

Thank you :). At 16.3hh, although he is very short-coupled, he does need a little space to turn to give him half a chance . . . and, as I said, we want our next outing to set him up to succeed rather than fail.

Merrist Wood used to do clear round evening SJ which was perfect for babies, but not sure if they still do it....
Outdoor warm up, with a large airy indoor school.
It used to get fully booked.
