Edited the title.... I soent the weekend at camp. Super, super busy. But we had a blast.

Lottie has also had a busy weekend with her new sharer. 3hrs 50 into a circular 4:00 hr hack round the Roaches from the farm and there was a HUGE tree in the river blocking the crossing 10 mins from home. @Tiddlypom where you crossed!

So the poor horses had to go all the way back up to the Roaches to access the A53. By which time it was dark an they called for mergency pick up. Both horses were good as gold!

Those are Lottie's ears and said tree. And the rescue.

It was a lot darker than it looks apparently.

Crikey, I do indeed remember that river crossing - they were so nearly home at that point!

Lottie’s ever pricked ears as the riders must be thinking ‘Oh heck’. She is an awesome gem of a horse.

Congrats to all inc the emergency transport home in the gloom. A memorable ride for Lottie’s lucky new sharer!

What an adventure indeed! And so frustrating.

I almost had similar on Sunday...albeit only 90 minutes not 4 hours. There's a cattle grid quarter of a mile from home and occasionally some idiot tourist will park in front of the gate. Heading towards the cattle grid, we could see a parked car 🤬. Luckily they had just left enough room for us to open the gate and get past but it's not always the case!!

What a fabulous genuine little horse she has turned out to be. The unintended extra long hack reminded me of many years ago in Norfolk. We very often hacked a long way along the coast line when the tide was low, and had a fantastic exciting ride when we turned back for home jumping the breakwaters.

Until the time we misjudged the tides. We had to abandon the ride back along the beach as the tides was obviously coming in far faster than we could make it back to our village, we had to ask our horses (all owned by me but 2 ridden by sharers and myself) to scramble up a very uncertain and steep cliff side, across some fields and out onto the main coast road that was very busy and it was dusk. Luckily the grass edge of the road was just wide enough to single file 5 miles back down the coast to home. That was the longest 5 miles I have ever ridden, my heart was in my mouth the whole way and I never misjudged the tides again.
