although given that the met office has just issued severe warnings for antrim, down and armagh is quite sensible

just wish i had known BEFORE i had washed horse/done overnight studs/cleaned tack/loaded up lorry

gah but they are thinking of holding it nxt sat but dromiskin is then?
I feel sorry for the people trying to have a run before necarne!!

I'm glad I checked the website after I came home from work so hadn't done anything with Nicky yet!
Thats practically a month now since I've had a run.
Are you going to Dromiskin?

was going to enter, yes. but not if loughanmore is going to be on same date

but i suppose dromiskin would be a better novice to start off with lol

my last run was Glenarm! (ok, and ballendenisk for IPC champs

Loughanmore is now on the 13th and dromiskin is on the 27th which secretly suits me better as now i can have more runs

but have to ask for a later dressage time as dad is at gala ball on fri night and a 6am leave house could be a bit much for a golden oldie

Ok have re-jigged my plans! doing Loughanmore next week, then dromiskin, then tatts and dunany to finish. and if they re-schedule craigantlet i'll go there too!

So do you know what any of the courses are like? Obviously know that tatts is up to standard and well built but what about the others?

Dromiskin has 3 waters, 2 have jumps into water and the 3rd is steps in. It is a nice course, very twisty and quite short tbh. but its lovely compact setting

I did the hunter trial there which ran over the exact same course as the 1* the previous week. quite a few skinnies however

that was my first event last year - i could have gone straight in at novice apart from water jump and a couple of others

quite a long track and has a HUGE hill at the start. has a coffin and a weird 2nd water where you sort of jump down into water, 1 stride and you jump out?!? water jump is quite small but has big log before it. It is lovely - you gallop right along the beach

but is a nice course which has everything in it

tatts is strong, but thats all i know

imo dunnany and dromiskin are lower end novices whilst loughanmore and tatts are top end of difficulty

*now that ive jinxed myself, wonder which one i will fall off at?

what about the ones who were looking for a run out before necarne?

I suspect a lot of people will now withdraw, given that necarne starts on the wednesday following loughanmore. what do you think?

Think I would probably dressage and sj so as the horses have been out at a party before Necarne. Probably not run xc!

agreed Clairel, and wouldn't be surprised if a lot still ran. I would have been devestated last year if it had happened as it is the perfect prep for necarne, so can imagine some will be worrying now
