We finally managed to get Louis down to the river today to try and learn to swim. Previous attempts had failed, however today he seemed to have fun. He was such a good boy, it appeared most of south Norfolk thought it was a good idea to visit the river this afternoon, there were kids everywhere.

I can safely say that Louis isn't the most natural swimmer despite his webbed feet. But at least he got in the water and played a bit. He is now shattered asleep on his beanbag.

If you really want to make yourself sick, you can watch the spangle in the river.

Where did you go - Knettishall? I find that's a good place to swim them, normally if you walk along the river it stays quiet as most people stay next to the weir by the main carpark:)

Santon Downham- St Helen's picnic site, it was packed(mainly kids with inflatables) although people started to leave before the football started at around 3 ish.

Not been there, might have to give it a go:) I would recommend Knettishall for swimming lessons, if you park up and follow the riverside path then there is a bit where you can easily get down the bank to paddle with him, and normally it is virtually deserted - the only people you tend to see are other dog walkers:) The water is only knee-deep and it is very clean - I always paddle with Henry in this weather:D

We took him to Knettishall a while back but weren't dressed to go in the water with him. Thought we'd try Santon Downham, as it's a bit nearer for us, it is really nice there just gets very busy. We used to keep our horses near there so know the area well.
