Love it - Mr Hester replies to a post about himself in Latest News

Hilarious, I reckon there are many lurkers on here who are "names", sometimes just to read what's posted about them!
In this case someone probably mentioned to him he was getting slated, hence his decision to reply..
Be warned, it's not until your husband is asked when on a training session with Pammy "Are you Mr Henryhorn then?" I realised I had best beware what I said on here... (daft devil replied yes, instead of "Who's Henryhorn?" garhhhhhh!

Maybe she just has better things to do than sit around slating other people? She's had her question answered and unlike the other replies, doesn't feel it needs to be carried on.

Not everyone gets a thrill from being catty.

Oh give over! Follifoot put her/his foot in it, has realised it and bowed out of this one. We have enough catty people on HHO without importing new ones!

Gosh, you wouldn't happen to know the OP would you??! I always love the way that 'new' people come out of the woodwork to defend an unpopular viewpoint, happens all the time on here and does make me laugh.

Usually it is the OP re-reg'ing to defend themselves, occasionally it is a friend the OP has cop-opted in, either way it is rarely a new and entirely random poster, especially given that if someone has a point there are enough people on here willing to defend unpopular ideas which nevertheless have some merit or milage.

I have to say I am not sure the original OP post (on other thread) was meant to be intentionally bitchy. I feel it was a genuine question but maybe not worded correctly. I am sorry but we often come across instances in the competitive horse world where it does seem to be one rule for the majority and another rule for a select few.

I have no idea about the rules of BD at all but things happen in all disciplines when you think "hang on, I am sure you're not allowed to do/wear that?". I think the OP was just pointing this out and querying it.

Also, I don't think it was clear who sarkie is/was - sorry but I had no idea and i don't think, just because we don't all know the ins and outs and life story of all these top riders that we are 'dumb' for not knowing who they are when/if they post!

Too many posts on here get bitchy and ridiculous and this seems to be another that has been blown out of all proportion and now some feel it ok to effectively gang up on and slag off the OP. Why? How does that make you any better a person?

Oh and no I do not have any connection to anybody on the post before anyone 'assumes'!

I think the fact you have a couple of thousand posts and have not appeared just to defend someone's position means you fall into the category of people I did mention as being willing to defend an unpopular idea which nevertheless has merit, does it not?

Don't worry all the big names have hangers on and sycophants who would sell their soul to stand up for them. Yes if it had been any other person the OP was talking about and any other poster responding they would have seen that the responses were the cattiest of the lot. Why not just come on and say who you are and put the record straight. It's not hard.

If it had been anyone else on that thread nothing would have come of it other than a normal discussion.

And no I don't have connections with anyone either.

If the OP had asked the question without naming said person I dont think we would have got such mileage out of it .
You should not name people then not expect them to defend themselves. All credit to CH for responding in person and not using other people to do his dirty work,he did try to give clues to his identity. He had a lot more to lose from giving clues to his true identity wereas the OP kept banging on in anonymity even after people had made it clear who they assumed it was.I personally think he was responding in a similar tone to the questions/comments put to him.
It may be worth going back and cooly looking at the first few posts in the thread and see if you feel the same.

i think some folk on her dis-engage brain before writing a post. And forget it's a public domain space............
So people do have to remember, if they are going write stuff which can be read more than one way, your going to spark up a debate...........

If you can stand the heat get out of the fire OR read you posting before sending???

So i'm all for CH replying - and a brilliant reply
grin.gif
I have now noticed OP has now disappeared????? in a puff of white smoke

As someone else said on here - just a thought - how do actually KNOW that it was CH that replied?!!!!!!!! Could be just another troll?!!!!!!!!!!

I did love his choice of username. Most probably wouldn't get that reference

I didn't!

ETS: I mean I didn't get the reference, not that I didn't like his choice of username

It is basically reference to where he was brought up and had his first introduction to horses

I lived on one of the other associated islands for most of my life so know the connection well as although he has been in England for years his acheivements (especially olympics etc) are reported, but most wouldn't unless taken his time to read his life story etc...

I don't think for a minute it was CH himself!!!!!!!

The choice of name was obvious! After all whoever it was wanted you to think it was CH - AND YOU DID!!

I am sure CH wouldn't have been so 'sarkie'!! Might just have explained why he had got permission and left it at that - like a true professional. Am sure he wouldn't have made the sarkie comment about grasses at school!!

Very childish IMO.

I vote for 'Troll'

Don't feed any more!!!!!!!!!!

OOPS!! Hopefully you didn't read all the comments in Competition Riders as you are 'new' to the forum!! If you did, I am sorry for the above comment - but it had the intended effect to make you come out - "so to speak'.

Am a great fan of yours, and loved your dressage commentary at Badminton!!!!!!!!!!!! You have a wicked sense of humour, and good on you for replying!!

(Of course, we still don't know if is really you, do we!! . That's what is such FUN about this forum don't you think!! )
