I'm in a little dilemna with my old cushings mare
, shes now 23 and 6 weeks ago we moved to a new yard and area. However due to other circumstances we are moving back to where we came from this coming Saturday. The only problem is the poor old lady appeared last Tuesday to be walking abit slower than usual and more reluctant, so I called the vet out and it was diagnosed as foot soreness.
She has had one lamintis attack about 2 years ago so obviously I always presume the worst! So I was advised 5 days box-rest with two danillon a day and see how she is. However taking on a slight walk today she still seemed reluctant to walk very far. She doesnt seem overly footy and even when the vet hoof tested her last week she didnt react to it. Tried with hoof pick today and still no reaction.
However she also has mild arthiritus so I dont think standing in for 5 days has helped much. I'm just really lost. Calling vet out again tomorrow morning for help. Its just such a worry since I'm hoping on moving her back home next week
