I have just lost my wonderful smooth haired mini dachshund. My home feels very empty already even though I also have rough coated parsons terrier.

I have always been a GSD person over the years but have been converted to smaller dogs and lap dogs after having my wonderful Dachshund. He was the most amazing loyal, cuddly friend in every way. The terrier we have is just 12mnths is definately my daughters dog although does have a stroke/fuss/play/cuddle etc off the rest of us.

I am ideally looking to give a loving home to another hound breed. After loosing my Dachshund so suddenly and heartbreakingly to paralysis of hind limbs (literally fine in morning, crippled in the afternoon with no signs etc) I really would find it hard to rehome another Dash for fear of the same happening although after his wonderful character it is something I wouldn't walk away from.

So if anyone has a Basset or other similar type of dog looking for a home within a family environment (no children below 9 1/2yrs), lots of love and fresh air (my dogs live inside house as part of family) in more rural area I can offer a home.

I know there are so many dogs out there needing a loving home. Just looking for another best friend to spoil rotten. Please PM me. Based in Midlands but happy to travel

I am based in Tamworth staffs.

Always had GSD's for last 20 odd year but since my house has increased to 2 adults and 2 children found space a bit more restrictive in the family home for a big dog and always believe they should have another dog for company.

I lost both my GSD's 18mnths ago, within 4 months of each other and already had my Dash. Very sadly lost him at 6yrs, so no age at all.

As I have got older (Not oap, just middle aged) I have found myself loving more and more a dog that will sit on the settee but not take it all up, and have a cuddle and lie on or next to me if that makes sense. My daughters terrier was purchased for her and is definately her baby. I only lost my Dash this week but already the house seems so empty without him. I adore the hound breeds even though they are more stubborn to train.

I am a horse dealer by proffession so the dogs also come out with me a lot during the day so its not a case of I go to work and leave the dog in the house.

I absolutely adored my dash, (prob more than my husband but I won't let him know that!), heartbroken at loosing my ultimate friend and companion. I don't mind taking an older dog. My daughters terrier is very kind natured and just 12mnths old. I know she is missing Dash terribly and sits and whines at the front door waiting for him to come home, so sad.
 
This is really really sad!

I will keep my ears open for anything that needs re-homing. We got a lovely 5 month old Yorkie x Border from a saddlers shop window a fews months ago.... try places like that.
