What low calorie chaff do you all use? Mine really like Spillers Fibre Lite Molasses Free but only one place near me stocks it so its hard to get unless I buy a few bags when I go to the local tack shop so wondering about another alternative that's more readily available! I've used Happy Hoof - they eat it OK but seem to prefer fibre lite much more.

Another vote for honeychop healthy and lite- it has herbs in as well as the hay chaff so is pretty well received by the podgy ponies here. They also do a plain oat straw chaff, but that is less interesting/palatable- makes a good top up of forage for a horse on heavily restricted hay though.

I use either Dengie Meadow Lite or Thunderbrooks Heallthy Herbal chaff. Pony can't have alfalfa but both are palatable for him as he can be fussy.

I use Honeychop plain oat straw with some very sloppy A&P Veteran Lite in it. I used to use Honeychop Lite & Healthy but my horse went off it.

Hi-fi molasses free for mine. I mix in her supplements with a bit of water and she eats it happily without adding anything else.

If I was to change I would swap to honeychop lite and healthy but I haven’t because I’ve no complaints with the hifi.

Dengie meadow lite.
They did a survey a year or so ago asking if there was a product missing from their range and I suggest a low cal chaff with no alfalfa in it. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who felt they were missing this trick but as they responded to demand i am happy to support them with it.
Ace gets a scoop of it everyday with a few carrots chucked in while Alfie gets a proper feed and he licks his bowl clean. Next to no energy in it but he feels he's included in life! Works a treat. I have used Ossi-chaff previously but I doubt it would be as palatable.
