You'll have to forgive me if this subject has been done to death as I don't normally frequent this part of the forum.

Can anyone suggest a low calorie dry dog food suitable for an older terrier? The dog doesn't get a lot of exercise due to being blind and is therefore prone to weight gain, but is otherwise fit and healthy.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received as it's for my mum and I know nowt about dog food!

not sure if they do low-cal, but look into James Wellbeloved. My dog cant eat dog meat so she is on this. She is v. old, doesnt run about much and is partially blind and her weight stays really good. Otherwise, I would speak with your vets and see what they could recommend.

James Welbeloved do a senior light food in a few different flavours, if you have a look at their website you can get free samples, I sell loads of this and also use the normal Adult for my dogs and it has made a massive differance to thier condition. I highly Recommend it!

we sell the senior light in the surgery and it's fab for less active dogs,it works as long as you feed the correct amount for the weight of the dog,i see so many people that say their dog isn't loosing any weight and it turns out they're feeding well over the RDA!
