Low Level Lami?

My horse quite often does the laminitic stance. Feet pushed forwards. No digital pulses, not lame. He does have heel pain issues, is on waiting list to go to Rockley! Poor lad, do I need to get him in?
 
Have you had x-rays done? If not then I think this would be my starting point because I'd want to know what I was dealing.

I agree absolutely treat as laminitic if in any doubt, it wont do any harm if it isnt but could make all the difference. Disagree about there being no such thing as low grade!

My broadband has just thrown in the towel so cant get the link to work but go to the Talk About Laminitis site, there is a video on there from Andy Durham talking about laminitis and how it ranges from sub clinical through to mild footiness, all the way to full blown laminitis.

Owners need to be aware of this as if its caught in the early stages it can make all the difference.

Also on the same site, I would urge anyone with any suspision of lami or any footiness in their horses to watch The Laminitis Revolution videos. The sooner it is treated the better the outcome.

I agree. It may not be laminitis but is it worth taking the risk if you have any suspicions?

You cannot see laminitis on X Ray,you can only see the bone position so 'rotation' or 'sinking', inflammation (laminitis) can't be seen.

The horse I had with heel pain also stood like a laminitic. As soon as I took his shoes off it was also like relief. It wasn't easy far from it but was worth it in the end. Good luck at rockley
