Hi all,

I was thinking about taking my mare in a local level 'riding horse' class and i was just after a little advice please. :-)

She's 15.2 so would she go in the small class or large??

tweed or navy?

Also i only have black tack, is that ok?

I know to plait her tail and she's already trimmed and tail pulled. I will not use a numnah and should i use a black girth or white?

conformation wise, she's a little long in the back but other then that i think she's ok. Her manners are good but i haven't put her in a showing ring before so im not sure how she will be with other horses cantering behind her ect. I do go out xc and jumping with her and she copes well with this.
Any advice on anything i should be doing with her would be a great help!
As i said it is only local level, just want to go out and do something a little different with her and have a bit of fun :-)

15.2 would usually be small riding horse but read the rules for the show, most say 15.2 and under or over 15.2 for the open class. Hope that makes sense:)

Tweed is more correct, shirt and tie.
Her tail should be pulled at the top, plaited if not.
Dark girth. Coloured velvet browband is correct for RH classes.

In the ring try and find your own space, go right to the edge if you need to gain more room and use the corners or cut them if you are finding people get too close, keep her going forward and balanced, dont rush, take your time and smile.

sorry just re-read what i wrote...
I should have said, i know to plait her mane and her tail is pulled :-)
