Can any one enlighten me as to the monetary brackets expressed when these terms are used?

Am I on the right lines?
Low (1-2k)
Mid (2-6k)
High(6-9k)

I’m currently searching for a pony for my daughter and I’m getting varied results with the low, mid, high figure phrases. I forgot how stressful buying is!

I assume mid to mean £15K, low to mean under 10K and high to mean around 18/20K.
its much easier if people use carrots instead of £

Why? The biggest 5 figure number you can have is £99,999 so £17k-19K is nowhere near that.

And this, folks is why adverts without prices are so frustrating ;)
Because I've rung or text a few adverts when I was buying Lari and more recently to get an idea of figures. And whenever they say low five figures they mean £12,000. I suppose its because the type of horse I'm looking at is the average priced horse and I know they are not going to be anywhere near the £99,000 bracket or even £25,000 bracket!

It's a nightmare but Facebook in particular doesn't allow prices so they have to allude to them.

If its just low/mid/high then it's probably relative to the other horses you've seen at that height, age, experience.

I'm getting fed up with people being cagey about the price when asked though. I'm finding it very rare to get a price, often get a reply saying 'what's your budget'. That is not how selling something works 😆

That is annoying. Then there's all the posts saying "no time wasters" but because you haven't a clue how much the horse is you may end up "wasting their time" by asking the price when it's wildly out of budget.

Yes when I lost Bailey I rang an advert for a horse that wasn't particularly attractive with no competition history. It had not done anything particuarly special compared with all the achievements I'd had with Bailey. But they wanted 30k!

I nearly dropped the phone in shock. Some people will always try it on!

Agreed. I assume they get a lot of messages, probably mainly asking for price and location. So I get it, if horse sells you cba to reply to 100 people saying its sold. But I've messaged about one particular horse twice, no reply but shes readvertised it three times 'due to time wasters' 😬
