Well, i recently got a new riding hat, the domey junior velvet charles owen ones, and i dont exactly have a small head and this makes my head look even bigger.

My old one was getting dangerously big as the lining had stretched and when i fell off a few weeks before it just slipped back on my head, so i had to get a new one quickly, so i went for the charles owen.
I asked if the store were getting any low profile ones in and they said no, so i bought it there and then.
The next day (literally) i went on the site and you could preorder a new low profile helmet, ARGH.

Anyway, i need a cheap low profile helmet if anyone can recommend me one as my dad will go mad having to fork out a load to get me a new hat just because of how it looks, but i look unbelievably bad in it.

And for XC you have to wear a skull cap right? so i would prefer i skull cap and if anyone could recommend me a good hat cover aswell?
Or any good low profile helmets you have to recommend?

Thank you x

I just bought a Charles Owen Showjumper xp and love it!! But quite expensive and not a skull cap! I also have a CO adventura skull with little vents which is quite low profile, cost about £60, previously had a H.S.1 with made my head looks quite big. Your best bet is to go into a tack shop and try a load on, look in the mirror and see which is best. Good luck! :)

I bought the Charles Owen kiddy one (can't remember the name) without looking in a mirror. Got home and showed hubby and he burst out laughing. My head looked humungous in it! Stuck out at the sides as well.
Ended up taking it back and got Harry Hall Legend, much better profile and really comfortable.

Yep the same one here. The velvet ones? theyre awful in my opinion. but good for safety for beginners, seeing as i am no longer i beginner i don't see the need.

i have the kids charles owen one, it doesn't make you look great, most people ive known who've had it looked like they had a tiny head because the hat was so massive, doesn;t look to bad on me prob cos im ugly anyway  but its horrible and gets so hot and you get really sweaty. i want a new one that's a bit nicer..
