So new mare needs a low protein diet which ATM is not a problem as she doesn't really need any feed so just gets a handful of fast fibre. However, her workload is only going to increase and I get the feeling she might need something to give her a bit more bounce as we progress. Now normally I would just give a handful of oats/competition mix but these aren't suitable for a low protein diest so am after an equivalent minus the protein!

Thanks

Late cut hay/haylage (late July or August cut). Mine was so low in protein I had to supplement my horses diet because it didn't supply him with enough.

My horse has had liver issues in the past but seems ok at the minute. When it flared up a few years ago my vet told me to feed speedibeet and micronized barley. Before the liver issue started she had an allergic reaction and is now allergic to the world. These beet and barley is about the only thing she can eat that she not allergic to tho. but she did very well on it and her liver settled down.
