Helloooooo!

Me again with annoying questions about diet... My lad can't have too much (and by too much really I mean any) sugar/starch in his diet.

I would however like him to have a boredom buster likit in his stable, but does anyone know if there is an alternative to the likit fills? Or whether there are a low sugar option?

Also, any other suggestions for boredom buster ideas/treats.

Ta x

Horses normally graze for about 16 hours per day. A 500kg horse would consume at least 50kg of fresh grass, which is equivalent to about 2kg of sugar per day or 125 grams per hour of grazing. We recommend that horses consume a maximum of 300 grams of Likit per day, which is equivalent to approximately 2 hours grazing.

If you have a horse that is prone to laminitis or on a low sugar diet then we have a range of salt based Likits and Little Likits that can be used in conjunction with our range of Likit toys.

I think the 'Salt' and 'Ice' Likits are the salt based ones, give them an email or facebook message to check :)

What about a swede tied hanging up?
Or have you seen the fibre blocks by feedmark they're low sugar high fibre and it takes them ages to nibble it as theyre so compacted! My boy really liked them when he was in 24/7

HA! :D

So would it fit into the likit boredom buster?
Uncle Jimmy's hanging balls (:o) don't seem to have a very sturdy hanging part, the baby pony I have in mind would just eat the string :p

It fitted into the standard likit holder - I think the likit products are all a standard size - which uncle jimmy strives to fit ;)

Someone on here recently mentioned re-using the little pots and filling them with mashed swede and carrots then freezing them (I think)
