Hi guys and gals,
I need some stirrup related help......
Can anyone recommend me a pair of stirrup leathers that have the holes 1/2 an inch apart as opposed to the normal 1 inch gap between the holes please?
I ride in flexi-stirrups with 52" leathers atm, hole 9 leaves my lower leg unstable, hole 8 improves the security and position of my lower leg loads, but hurts my knees and ankles. I thought maybe a half way between the 2 would help?
The other option I was considering was some cheese grater stirrup treads?
All opinions, recommendations and advice welcome!
Thanks.

In terms of holes - go for bonded leathers in shorter sizes they tend to have short hole distances. Amerigo and stephens ones I have had ickle spacings

On a totally separate more random note regarding lower leg stability - I've been using K'vall stirrups and found they have really helped me, and even when I swap back to normal stirrups (not affiliated legal yet), they have really helped my lower leg stay put and be stronger jumping:-

Thanks! The K'Valls look interesting! I've had a quick google, but can't find them, where did you buy them, and if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay?
Thanks again. x

I have just brought some Mark Todd non stretch stirrup leathers, and they have oodles of holes in them! They are brilliant. Maybe work without stirrups would help your lower leg? I also use sprenger system 4 stirrup irons as they flex really well in all directions. I used to suffer with aching knees and ankles!

Thanks, the bendy stirrups definataley help, can't afford Sprengers though!
I have been doing some work without stirrups, but have just done a disc in my lower back so there'll be none of that for a while! :(
