Luca Maria Moneta

I think he is just fabulous. He isn't the most stylish, but what he does p works. Good on him. Lovely mare in the puissance too.

It was amazing to watch live :) although sadly she dropped the carrot after he cleared the wall in the 3rd round i think, all of us was like noooo she dropped the carrot, he better have another for her!!!! Absolutly awesome to watch and so nice to see her in a snaffle with no martingale!

I found myself really wanting him to win as well.

Loved how he was giving her treats and talking to her and also laughing and interacting with the crowd- maybe if more of them were like that more non horsey people may get into watching it?

Was watching the BBC highlights this morning and thought it was really considerate towards his mare when he said he wasn't going to do the last round as he wanted her to be happy and how sometimes you have to take a loss for the benefit of the horse (know he did do the final round though! )

think I saw him last year in the mini majors. he was great with his partnered kid, didn't take it at all seriously and put so much emphasis onto the kid. He really made it all about them, almost as if he was lucky enough to ride with them and not visa versa. Think they won as well

Just watched him on Iplayer and he is so funny! 'Ive told her she doesn't need to do it, she can stop if she wants!'
I love all the mismatched tack, just like they threw something together 5mins before he rode! I think he's going to become quite a big character on the circuit with that horse! I look forward to seeing them in the future!

Just caught up with all the action on iPlayer and I am now a huge Luca Maria Moneta and Quova De Vains fan! Such a gentle rider, loves his horses and clearly has a special connection with them. I have enormous respect for anyone that withdraws from a competition because they feel the horse has already done enough, just a shame he was pushed to go in the final round but it brought him the well deserved win. No previous Puissance form either! Super mare too, so honest, an amazing partnership and I look forward to following them!

Unusual responses on a H&H thread to a Parelli trained horse ridden by a Parelli student, lol.

I thought the same thing. Especially based on one class.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's great for the sport and seems a good fellow. I also agree with much of what he says and does and it's great he's stuck to his guns. It's just interesting how now this guy is the best - implying everyone else is somehow wrong - on the strength of one tiny snapshot. Such is the way, I guess.
