The tetris rugs by trust have really big pads but it will be a lot cheaper cobbling something together

I'm going to against the popular opinion here and have the PE rugs on two high withered horses and they are doing what they are supposed to, both horses appear happy in both the 100g turnouts and stable rugs.
I spent £7.50 on a new silky bib, and 89p x 2 on huge sponges from Halfords. My lovely friend then stitched velcro on to the bib, covered the sponges in cotton cloth and stitched velcro on to the cloth. I can simply take the sponges off and wash the bib.
Excuse the messy odd clip, I leave a strip down his spine to help prevent rubbing. He is retired so looks don't matter, it is all down to comfort for him.

I think a homemade device would be very handy indeed and you could use it under all their rugs. I’m going to copy IHW!
IHW - how did you attach the riser to the bib? Super glue?
