Well was meant to run Monday and Tues this week, but with the heavy frosts, the XC day (tues) got postponed until today. Went to Arena Uk on monday to do the work ovr poles etc. Got there to find had been grouped with 5 horses that had points at Nov or were looking to moe upto Nov, albeit with new riders....still scary!

Anyway, started off working on very small very skinny fences, and walking or trotting over them, working on control and accuracy, and working to cantering serpentines over "arrow heads" made of tiny skinny jump blocks and a skinny fences. Goddy was a star. No run outs, silly ness and he thoroughy enjoyed himself, with the only difficulty coming when wehad to halt at the end of the excercise!!

Then moved onto jumping corners, and then corners on a curve to a skinny fence to anoher curve to another corner, so jumping on angles. Again, Goddy was a star ntil they got a bit bigger, and he just got a bit tired and objected to a left hand corner. Solved the prob after a tantrum and the loan of some spurs from Lucinda (

) and caled it a day.

The XC today, WELL, got there and watched some of the other group finish over a line of fences including a big post and rail into space, witha downhill run to a big "true" coffin. Thought to myself thank god not in THAT group...

Started off jumping ditcches and then a small trakehner from WALK to develope the hunting seat

Goddy was great, did som funny contortions over the trakehner, but Lucinda declared my position was suitably "agriculteral" and safe

Then went to work on skinnies, Corners, and putting it all together. Goddy was fab, not a single wobbly from a suitably wide and large corner downhill, his first ever "proper" XC corner, jumped a skinny viaduct beautifully and finished by jumping a large elephant trap, (my nemesis)

Clever pony

Then walked up and down some decent downhill steps (on a slope) and put together a course jumping skinny log to a downhill drop with 3 strides t o another skinny drop, again I was

Played in water for a bit, and got happily jumping in and out, and then put together a course....the same I had seen the previous group jump!!

Goddy was awesome, jumped big post and rail into space in "textbook" style (
tongue.gif
) and bounced through the coffin no probs. SO so so pleased with my horse, and would highly recommend Lucinda. Bonus being she really liked Goddy, and said I rode him "beautifully" (self indulgent grin

) SO I am still

Thanks for reading.

Glad you had a good time, she is great isnt she

Reminds me I must tx her re. our May clinic. She had us all serpentining over narrow fences at walk and trot aswell, she seems to work lots on controling the horse which is great

Wow! How fantastic, well done you and G. I did a Lucinda lesson a few years ago with mare, and was grouped with Intermediate horses
shocked.gif
my trainer who was organising said we would be ok
crazy.gif

I left with shed loads of confidence and a completely new understanding of the mare. I would love to do another if she comes up here again.
Am currently typing nervously as tomorrow I have my first jumping lesson since September last year!!!

Sounds like it was fantastic for you both, and just the confidence boost you need before the season starts. Hope I'm on such a high after this weekend at Little Downham.

HHM, yes the course was newton, and there is only one post and rails into space...

Ouja, she is referring to "farmers and good old hunting folk" when referring to Agricultarel, in other words not a pretty position but slightly behind the movement and in balance

A True "lower leg" XC position

BIG
