Has anyone every been to one, just as a spectator?

Was watching one on horse and country (a repeat of one the other day) and was wondering what they are like in RL?

I used a few of the things she talked about the other day with Bert and got him over jumps I would not have thought to try and he went without much hesitation.... (nothing spectacular you understand...to you guys they were probably piddly)

Have only heard good things about them - whenever people from the yard were going to them, they'd all come back with a smile and saying how fantastic it had been

I just faniced going to one of the demo clinics for a look see.... not brave enough to actually participate

Lucinda Green... Hmmm.... the woman who thinks it is perfectly OK to ride your fatally lame horse over the last fence and to the finish line.

What she says certainly seems to help the riders and she is obviously a very talented rider, but personally I don't think much of her teaching style and manner It would rub me up the wrong waythat's for sure.

I went to watch her once, a magazine ran a competition for clinic participants and as I didn't have a horse to take I gave the entry form to my friend, and she won so I got to go and watch. I thought she was fab, everyone riding improved so much and everyone (riding or watching) learnt a lot. She really explains everything really well, and knows how to teach and not just how to do it herself. I'd love to go to one of her clinics but just don't have the horse for it!

Ive had a few lessons with her and i think she is fantastic. She explains things well and makes things seem far simpler than normal. One of the best instructors for XC

I saw the one on horse and country the other day, went xc practice the just after and tried the things she said, my horse became so much more confident! Id love to have a clinic with her, she seemed a bit mean but thats what i need!!

exactly the same here.

I was thinking squeeze and make their eyes pop out and the whole see saw thing and he didn't refuse a thing! And I felt so much more secure and confident.

As I have not done a lot of jumping at all, I have really just sat there and let bert take me over. now the jumps are bigger and less inviting I discovered he is fed up of making all the decisions! As a result I was struggling to get him over the new XC jumps but using a few of the things she said he was happily whizzing around.

Good few years ago I took drove a friends horse to a Lucinda clinic, only saw the xc session but even on foot I learnt plenty. If you go to a xc clinic on a proper course stay close to Lucinda, she is very approachable and will inculde you in the session to a degree by explaining what she is seeing with each of the riders and how she will go about helping them. Even if you do not have a horse to ride at one of her clinics going on foot (which when I went was free!) was certainly worth while.

My horse had lost a bit of confidence and started chipping in strides, but after trying a few of her tips he was taking fliers!
If thats your horse in your sig, mines not too different a stamp, obviously her techniques work well on hairy monsters!!!!

LOL yeah that is my monster

He loves to jump but I have never had a lesson jumping and just let him carry me over logs and the odd poly jump. I apparently am much more secure and confident over the solid fences which is probably because I enjoy them more and have been doing loads since moving yards. My instructor is out of action untl Nov so we are playing on our own until then......

I went as a spectator to one of her indoor XC training sessions a few years back, and it was great, everything she said made sense, you could understand how to make it work. So far as I can remember, she included the basics of jumping, position etc, and taught how to jump corners, skinnies etc, all really good stuff if you don't happen to have a personal cross country course, but to have a few oil drums and poles!

I watched that on horse and country too and thought it looked great, would love to go to one either with horsey or as a spectator, as I tried out what she had said (exactly what you did by the sound of it!) in my lesson and my instructor said she'd never seen Flash jumping so nicely

I thought she explained things really well and it looked good fun too
