Anyone done her Ready4trouble online course. I am getting bombarded with adverts - and I am looking for some Autunm inspiration. It’s relatively affordable, most people who go to one of her clinics do seem to get something out of it?
I not looking to x-c just improve baseline skills.

I did her foundations for XC course. It was fine but not much was particularly new. And very difficult to really practice unless you are out XC regularly as each 'lesson' had practical elements: jumping out of walk, jumping out of trot, floppy canter jumping, ditches etc.

She touches on Ready for Trouble in that course - basically ELBOW (Engine, Line, Balance and OW if you get any of those wrong) and a secure, stable seat/position at ALL times. But the full course may go into far more depth.

Then I joined the see a stride class but it did not seem much different to Foundations for XC. But I didn't finish that one so may have missed some useful info later on.

I would say that one thing I did try in practice was her stop/go buttons because I always have prpbelms with STOP for Lottie. To go: nudge, then kick, then stick. To stop: sit up, then half halt, then pull her teeth out. (Obviously not literally). And that approach does not work for Lottie. I tried Lucinda's exercise it for 7 miles round the Somerford farm ride doing about 100 transitions from walk/trot to halt which were no problem, and then canter or jump to halt. And she ignored seat/half halt - as she does. BUT escalating just wound her up and she finished far LESS responsive and ore onward than she started.

In discussion with my RI she said yes that approach can be hepful for some horses but with others like Lottie is just upsets them and you end up in a massive battle. Far better to manage it another way. And Joe also said that approach is not suitablel for Lottie. It is similar to Buck Brannaman's Level 1 to Level 9 aproach: Level 1, whisper, Level 9, yell. If they ignore 1 go straight to 9. They soon learn to respond to the whisper. But Lottie needs to be trained differently as getting too firm too quickly just gets her stressed, and her ability to listen gets even worse.

So for all these online courses, they have a place (I liked the Amrelia Newcomb dressage one a lot), but horses are individuals and no 1 system suits all horses.

I was talking to my friend yesterday about it yesterday and we were giggling about Lucinda’s direct teaching style and the way she talks about things. My friend has actually signed up for it just for something to do. Her philosophy is that there is always something you can learn. .

I thought this was going to be a tongue in cheek thread about her ‘developing the horses 5th leg’ course 😂 I’m getting bombarded about that at the moment, and every time it comes up it makes me giggle - so childish (me that is 😝)

Sorry no actually helpful info or feedback for you………………………
I agree - the 5th leg can have several interpretations 🫢
