First of all a HUGE thank you to Kelpie for organising such a wonderful day out.
Big deep breath ok, here comes my first clinic report for HHO as an Apprentice Competition rider. We went to Littleton Manor in Reigate to have a play round the fences under the very competent supervision of Lucy Thompson who was her usual fun and incredibly constructive self! I took the Wonder Cob Flossie and my friend took her very green ISH/ID 4yold mare who has only jumped cross poles in the school.
For anyone who hasnt been to Littleton Manor for XC schooling I suggest you pop it on your list of potential venues if you are south-based. I highly recommend it and the people who run it are great we got lost and phoned for directions. Rather than talk us in they sent someone out in a pick truck to find us and lead us in that for me is service beyond the norm!
For those unfamiliar with the venue imagine the main arena at Hickstead filled with 80 well built (Willis Brothers) XC fences for every level of ability from ours (so small
) through to Intermediate. The going was perfect and the sun shined all day.
We were spoilt for choice in fence options and were very pleased with our horses. Ive attached a few pics but please bear in mind that we are still at the baby steps phase........
Thanks again to Kelpie for organising the day, to Littleton Manor for a great day out and to Lucy Thompson who once again has made us believe that we can do it.
Flossie enjoying herself!
