Lucys story. The one in 8 million pony.

Aww bless her, i thought she was older but not that old! She looks great for it! And dont be so modest, your amazing for taking them both on and sticking with them! Especially lucy at only 14..many 14 year olds wouldnt even look at a pony you couldnt ride let alone one you cant even catch for 6 months!
 
Thankyou. She was the only pony my parents could afford. Luckly they knew nothing about horses so i perswaded them to let me have her. But i'm glad she was all we could afford, she turned out to be an amazing pony. People who knew her at the start who have seen her think i have just bought a pony who looks the same. No one believed she would come right but i just knew she could do it. Now she's worth more than her weight in gold. :)
 
What a lovely story, as above, Lucy and Herbie are so lucky to have you. Hope she continues to do well for a long time yet, and hope you have a great summer or fun together. I love seeing your updates on them both, so keep them coming!
 
ditto everyone else - thanks for taking the time to type all that out, it is an amazing story, you have so much patience! Although I have been reading it whilst at work and had tears in my eyes - and I work in an open plan office - oops!

Lucy (and Herbie!) are very lucky to have found you. Well done for all your hard work with your ponies -sounds like it's been more than worthwhile :)
 
Ive got snotty teary andrex all over my keyboard now and I'm going to be late for the farrier. Im going to give my horse and extra big hug now after reading that.
 
Thankyou so much everyone for the kind words. It's been a long journy (Although not over yet. Yepeee) But it's been worth every tear, every brouse and every sleepless night. Lucy owes me nothing, I owe her everything.
 
Have bumped this post as I never knew Lucys story, I hope you dont mind but it is such a heart-warming story. You really were a special team, RIP Lucy.

I was reading this thinking how wonderul she had a happy ending but then read on and realise you have lost her?
So sorry to read this, she was clearly very lucky to have you and you gave a her a ruddy wonderful life by the sounds of it.

A fantastic story, with the saddest of endings :( Actually that is not true, it is not the saddest of endings, that would have been if she had not been found by you and given the great life she had. She had all those years of a good life, because you persevered with her, when it could all have been so bad for her. She lived the greatest part of her life in the sun, which is thanks to you Laura. She will always be with you in some form.

Tears streaming down my face, Laura you are amazing. So sorry for your loss but Lucy will be looking down at you and telling the others that you are 8 in a million too xxxxxx
 
That is such a lovely story! Lucy was such a strong pony. didn't know she had such a bad start in life. :( She is so lucky you found her and gave her a good home.
