Not my finest hour on Sunday.
I went to get on and picked up the reins fairly loosely. Horse swung his head around and under my leg as I put it in the stirrup, lifting my leg over his neck. Since my foot was trapped in it, I was hoisted by the stirrup into the air, now upside down on the wrong side of my steed.
By the time my foot came out of the stirrup I was on my bum right in front of the (extremely pleased with himself) horse.
Do they plan these things, do you think?
