About a month ago my horse cut her front leg just below the knee. She was never lame and the cut wasn't bad. It swelled for a day but went down so I gave her a few days off. Now she has 2 quite hard lumps on her leg from it. She doesn't seem bothered and is sound, but they are quite noticeable! Not sure whether I should be worried about this or if it's just normal healing? Thank you in advance!

My lad caught himself on his fetlock 2 years ago. It was quite a deep cut. He still has a lump where the cut was. It is going down very very slowly!!

It's just scar tissue on the skin. If you poke it you should be able to move it with the skin as that is all it is - hardened skin. Absolutely nothing to worry about what so ever.

I have the same on my eyebrow, where I was silly enough to play rugby at 18 years of age. It moves around with the skin but is quite bulky. I hoped it would go down with time, but nope, it is still there. No pain, no infection, just the way the scar tissue healed.

I suspect it would have healed better if I had gone to hospital for stitches, as the medic recommended. As it was, I went to Boots for stern strips and bandaged it shut. I had a stinking headache and didn't want to go to A and E on a weekend!

I don't think many people would want to go to A&E at a weekend so that's very understandable!

Did you ever treat the lump with anything that helped?
