Z has a swelling in between her front legs, it is not from the girth as too far forward, does not seems to hurting her, and it goes down with excercise.
She also seems to have a small amount of filling in her legs, more than is normal for her.
She is out every day, in at night, but nothing has changed.
It does mot seem to be painful, but I jumped her today, and she was almost running away, which s not ike her, someone suggested it could be because last tie we jumped was xc, but she felt like she was running away, not being super speedy?
I did have a different bit in, but she had seemed very happy in that?

When you next see her and the lump is up press it with your finger, if it makes a finger shaped indentation which is slow to return to normal it is pitting oedema and I would strongly suggest you get a vet out as it is not normal especially as her legs are filling more as well.

Agree 100% with this.

Will do, have had a read through this forum, and am also wondering if there is some sort of liver/kidney issues as she is also drinking a lot more than normal.
Thanks

You will need a vet out to investigate this.bloods are likely to be needed. How long has it been present? If it's been there a while and she's otherwise in good form then I'd say your vets will wait and schedule a check in the next few days but when in doubt ring your own vets and check.

It has been there for a few days, she has had it before, but I can't remember anything significant to link it with a reason?
She seems in good health, is eating normally etc

Looked at your picture on the other thread, I'd say she possibly been bitten by a bug. Being the lowest part of the main body swelling tends to head there. Check her temperature. If it's raised get the vet, if not I would hazard a guess it will be gone in a few days

Would a bite cause an oedema though? Thanks

I came down one day to find my mare with what could best be described as a dog's scrotum hanging between her front legs! She always swelled up due to insect bites and the fluid had sunk to the lowest point due to gravity. The skin between the front legs is so stretchy and flexible of course.

What was the lump outcome?

... Our yearling currently has v similar oedema/lump between front legs. I thought she'd maybe had a kick initially. - when any fluid obviously drops to lowest point. Wondering if it could have been fly bites (we've had a couple of random warm 'fly' days) although back to cold and wet now!

No soreness or heat or anything like that and nothing wrong anywhere else. It is like a good ' handful' of fluid under the skin. Last few days it's got less 'fluid' like and a little bit firmer. Going to keep an eye on it. ?
