Any ideas? Pics below. Came up overnight Saturday night, noticed it Sunday late morning. Doesn’t seem painful on palpation, no heat. She’s eating normally and doesn’t seem bothered, she isn’t quidding. Her teeth were last done in September, not long after I bought her.

Could it be an eruption cyst? Have had a look with headtorch on and a feel around (as well as I could without a gag), can’t feel anything untoward/food pocket or anything. I thought she was a bit old for teething though (5, will be 6 in March)?

The lump appears smaller in photos this morning (OH has done her for me under strict instructions as I’m unavoidably in the office today, and has sent me pics). Still eating fine and no signs of discomfort on handling. Pondering vet call now, or waiting to see how it looks when I get up there tonight and calling tomorrow (provided no worse/still eating fine).

I wormed her for tapeworm on Saturday around 4pm with double dose of strongid-p (and kept her in for 24 hours, which is how I am certain there is no quidding or difficulty with gobbling vast quantities of hay!), could this be something to do with it no or just a coincidence?!

First pic (with my hand in it) is yesterday, second is this morning.

I have attached a photo of my boy with a similar lump. Similar place to your pony's. Haven't got a front pic unfortunately. He was a lot older than yours though being 23 and had a tooth missing somewhere near the back so food got stuck in his cheek.

We’ve got an pony that gets this, it’s just food build up. You can just push it out with your finger inside her mouth. She does have regular dentals but is an old pony with a couple of missing teeth.

That’s what I was originally hoping it was yesterday (although she doesn’t have any teeth missing!), but I couldn’t feel anything - granted she wasn’t the most cooperative, especially after nearly 24 hours stood in her stable. Will have another rummage around when I get up there tonight, if it’s still there!

Hi, just wondered what this turned out to be and how it was resolved? My old girl has had something very similar flair up in the last few days…

Omg I forgot about this 🤣 it was… nothing! Had gone by the next morning I think. I do love a panic over nothing!

I’d be more worried about some sort tooth issue with an oldie, though. Any issues eating? Quidding?
