My OH noticed a small lump on the outside of the bottom row of teeth on our spangle, its not sore to touch and she seems fine, wondered if anyone else has seen anything like it.

It looks like the gum is sort of swollen but its not sore, I thought she might of done it whilst pulling the stuffing out of the new toy or something. or she'd damaged it chewing, she did recently have one of those stag horns, maybe she got a bit excited getting the centre out, and we've only just noticed

I'll try and post some pics later

Update : took to vet last Fri who said she'd have to come in for a biopsy under general anaesthetic to rule out a tumour ! asked was she insured so am just holding my breath as to how much it will be, excess is £55 so not too bad

I'm hoping he'll just remove it while she's under, don't want her to have to have 2 generals

Every dog I see at the moment seems to have a lump! My girl had one on her paw a few months ago (came up suddenly but was totally painless), the vets took a sample off to test it and said it was very common and it'd go away on its own in 1-6 months, hopefully yours will be the same!

Its benign thank god, its an epulis, it may need removing in the future but i'm to just keep an eye on it, its in an awkward place between her teeth on the bottom jaw.

One of my bitches had one which was discovered when cleaning her teeth ready for Crufts.
Vet referred her to Cambridge and took her down early morning to discover they wanted to keep her until the following day - she had been starved overnight ready for an op so I objected and picked her up at 5pm. They did a biopsy instead of removing the lump so we had another day trip a month later to remove the lump and two molars it had displaced.
The vet verdict - an interesting lump! Non malignant.

BTW she went BB in breed from open at Crufts.

Interesting thanks, my vet said to keep a close eye on it and he may need to remove some teeth if need be, he doesn't think its one that will grow into the bone. Its not affecting her at all, its just we noticed and I wanted it checked out. Was a bit shocked when he said it could be cancerous and would need a biopsy, nearly had to pick me up off the floor. Luckily that's not the case.
