My horse banged his knee out hunting months ago but was never lame on it and we had the vet out and he drained the knee but there is still a large lump on his knee, it's purely cosmetic it doesn't affect his way of going and is below the joint. The lump is hard.

Is there anything I can put on his knee to dissolve the lump?

Why mess when it's working as it is?
The body tends to protect itself when it's damaged, so this lump (or these lumps) are probably there for that. I've been given an ex-racehorse because he has lumps on a knee that was smacked Hurdling and while he's fine enough to enjoy normal work, the owners thought he couldn't race. I bet he could, but am hardly liable to turn him down and tell them that!

If you don't show, why worry?

I was planning on selling this horse, so I was hoping that if I could get it smaller then it wouldn't be as off putting.....but it might just come down in time.....
