Vet visited my traddie boy last Thursday (so a week ago now.......), to do his teeth, for which he needed light sedation, and to do flu vacc's.

I was grooming him today and noticed he's got a lump on his neck. I don't know whether this is the injection site for the vaccination, or the sedative. But because he's such a hairy boy I've only just noticed it.

The lump is about the size, in diameter, of a thumbnail.

Anyone else had this? Should I tell the vet? (don't want to be worrying unnecessarily).

Would anyone else be worried? IF someone else has had this happen, how long did it take before the swelling went down? Sorry, lots of questions!

Horse is fine in himself, very well in fact. Has been lightly ridden during the past week and is in all ways his normal self.

I would keep an eye on it but it would not worry me at that size, if he is very hairy it can be difficult to get the needle in easily and probably just irritation.
The flu jab will have gone into muscle in the main part of his neck, or possibly into his chest, the sedation will have been into the vein along the jugular groove, this should help you know which site you are seeing the swelling in if you have to phone for advice.
